Bidenflation Puts Pricey Dent in Memorial Day Plans

(Mark PellinHeadline USA) As millions of Americans celebrate Memorial Day weekend, their plans are being thwarted by soaring gas prices caused by the Biden administration’s failing domestic policies that favor pushing a radical environmental and social agenda at the expense of fossil fuels and at exorbitant cost to consumers.

Gas prices once again hit new highs, reaching an average $4.61 a gallon on Sunday, a number more than 50 percent higher than the cost of a gallon a year ago, the Daily Mail reported

Worse is expected down the road, with industry experts forecasting prices to top a $6-a-gallon average by the end of summer, a hit many leftist cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco have already felt.

“Last week, the price of a gallon in each of the 50 states surpassed the $4 marker – a dubious distinction never before reached,” reported the Mail.

That’s by design, said Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., courtesy of President Joe Biden.

Graham’s pronouncement came when Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo noted Biden’s recent comment about being in an “incredible transition” of implementing so-called green policies.

“So, these high prices are intentional?” Bartiromo asked.

“I think that’s the main takeaway from his statement,” Graham said.

“He is telling the American people they’re doing this to you on purpose, that the transition period is being imposed by policies coming from the Biden administration.”

And despite Biden, Democrats and a rad-left media trying their best to blame Russia for the soaring prices, Graham set the record straight.

“It’s not Putin’s fault,” he said.

“This is a conscious effort by the Biden administration to destroy fossil fuel production in the United States, to get away from fossil fuels.”

One way that goal is trying to be achieved is by what Graham called “an irresponsible shutting down of oil and gas production in America, making us more dependent on oil and gas from bad actors, and it’s destroying the American economy.”

American consumers are being especially hard hit as they struggle to make plans for Memorial Day and summer vacation travel, with many being forced to cut back or scuttle entirely.

Drivers are already “limiting their trips due to record gasoline prices that are expected to go even higher,” reported CNBC

“I don’t think as many people are going to hit the road, and if they do, I think a good portion are going to be staying close to home,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.

Graham drove home the root cause of spiking gas prices that are crippling the economy.

“But the takeaway is what you said,” he told Bartiromo. “This is being done on purpose.”

“And you’re living this experience,” he said of American consumers paying the price for Biden’s radical agenda.
