(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Former Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin has raised eyebrows by suggesting a link between his dismissal and alleged corruption involving President Joe Biden, when he served as Obama’s vice president.
In a preview of an interview with Fox News host Brian Kilmeade, Shokin did not mince his words about what he described as a bribe.
“I do not want to deal in unproven facts, but my firm personal conviction is that, yes, this was the case. They were being bribed,” Shokin directly stated during the interview.
Shokin doubled down on his assertion, saying, “And the fact that Joe Biden gave away $1 billion in U.S. money in exchange for my dismissal, my firing, isn’t that alone a case of corruption?”
The interview, set to air this Saturday on Fox News, has already ignited a fresh wave of controversy embroiling the Biden family.
An FBI informant file alleges that a Burisma executive paid substantial amounts to both Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden, ostensibly to resolve legal matters, including Shokin’s investigation.
The controversy doesn’t stop there. A video clip from 2018 surfaced showing Biden openly admitting to securing Shokin’s firing by leveraging a monetary threat. “Well, son of a bitch. He got fired,” Biden quipped, recounting his successful interference in Ukrainian affairs in an interview with the Council on Foreign Relations.
Shokin went beyond corruption allegations, attributing the Russian invasion of Crimea to Biden’s actions. He claimed, “Everybody knows that it was because of Joe Biden’s actions that Russia was able to claim Crimea without firing a single shot, which of course eventually led to a full-scale war that is currently underway.”
As reported by the New York Post on Friday, Biden played an active role in the Obama administration’s failed efforts to restart ties with Russia.
Amid the contentious 2020 presidential election, Biden then claimed he had never spoken to his son about foreign business dealings, claims that have since been debunked by damning evidence, including the FBI-owned informant file.
The House Oversight Committee, led by House Republicans, is delving into the alleged bribery bombshell. Sworn testimonies from IRS whistleblowers have heightened suspicions of a cover-up involving Hunter Biden’s business dealings, while contradictory statements from Joe Biden regarding his involvement have only added fuel to the fire.
Biden is facing impeachment threats if his administration continues to stonewall congressional efforts looking into the claims, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., said last week.
“When Biden was running for office, he told the public he has never talked about business. He said his family has never received a dollar from China, which we now prove is not true,” McCarthy stated in an interview with Fox News’s Sean Hannity.
He added, “The thing that holds up whether we’ll do an impeachment inquiry: Provide us the documents we’re asking. The whole determination here is how the Bidens handle this.”
