Viral Pregnant Nurse in Bike Dispute Preps to Sue Media over Fake Racism

(Luis CornelioHeadline USA) Attorney Justin Marino, who represents the pregnant New York City nurse who was involved in a recent viral incident over a bike dispute, has announced their intention to sue the media after being falsely accused of being a racist.

In an interview with Fox News’s Bill Hemmer on America’s Newsroom, Marino accused the media of defaming Sarah Comrie, a physician assistant at Bellevue Hospital, after a group of black men allegedly approached her to claim a bike that she had just rented to go home following a 12-hour shift belonged to them. A bystander captured the fight involving several black men and the nurse, in which the woman can be heard yelling for “help.”

“We’re going to get an answer when we start filing defamation lawsuits,” Marino told Hemmer. “The media has—she’s been called a racist, she’s been called a thief. There are reasons defamation laws exist, and we plan to pursue that.”

The group of black men seen in the viral video claimed the bike belonged to them. But receipts provided to Fox News by Marino reportedly prove that she did in fact rent the bike. Comrie is seen in the video warning a black man that he was hurting her “fetus” as he attempted to snatch her off the bike.

“Please help me, help me,” Comrie said in the viral video, later warning, “You’re hurting my unborn child.” A seemingly agitated man yelled to a tearful Comrie, “Your baby gonna come out retarded.”

“Your stupid *ass. F*ck outta here,” another man yelled at the six-month pregnant woman.

When asked about witnesses and the parties tied to the viral incident, Marino said, “I want to be very clear, our defamation is against the media and the way they blew this into a disaster.”

Following the incident, the Bellevue Hospital issued a statement, saying the health provider “is currently out on leave and will remain on leave pending a review.” They also added they are “committed to providing an environment for our patients and staff that is free from discrimination of any kind.”
