AOC: Biden’s $3T Infrastructure Plan ‘Needs to Be Way Bigger’

(Headline USA) Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY, said President Joe Biden’s proposed $3 trillion infrastructure proposal “needs to be way bigger.”

The infrastructure plan, dubbed the “American Jobs Plan,” would allocate funding for roads, bridges, and broadband internet across the country, and it would fund several of the Biden administration’s climate policies.

The plan includes $174 billion in spending to subsidize the electric vehicle market, and it would require a portion of U.S. electricity to come from sources like wind and solar power.

Biden also wants Congress to invest $35 billion in research and development for “clean energy” jobs, and another $16 billion to move fossil fuel workers to different jobs.

Another $10 billion would establish a “Civilian Climate Corps” to employ people to restore land.

However, climate change advocates such as Ocasio-Cortez have demanded that Biden spend even more on environmental policies.

“It is clear that if Biden is serious about transforming our economy and building back better, a much greater scale of investment is needed,” the Sunrise Movement, a leftist activist group, said in a statement.
